Most of us are better at doing things with some practice and as soon as you have the fundamentals down, you will be able to get rid of your hesitation to use condoms. One option to make it fun is to get a group of friends together and have each person bring a different kind of prophylactic. What better way to see the differences?
While each of the things noted below can be done alone, we recommend that having the ability to connect with your friends (and who is friendlier than a bunch of swingers getting together?) about safe sex is a great first step towards preparing you to use condoms with your new swing partners. You can confidentially try out your technique with your friends.
The following offers a few ideas for increasing your skills in the use of condoms
Have some fun learning all about them. Take your condoms out and test them. Stretch them out to your arms length, get a friend to help put a condom on your head. Blow them up like balloons. If you want, see for yourself what happens to condoms when you use an oil-based lubricant. Blow up two condoms. On one, rub a water-based lubricant, on the other try using Vaseline or baby oil. Keep rubbing. You’ll find that the condom with the Vaseline or the baby oil will explode in under a minute, while the condom with the water-based lube will still be kicking around the next day when you are cleaning up.
For the females, try practicing putting a condom on with your mouth. Pinch the tank pointer between your lips and utilize your mouth, in an “O” shape to push the prophylactic down over the “penis” (different fruits and vegetables can be replaced for the real thing for practice, if you wish, but I don’t see why).
Attempt a trial run to pick the sweetest tasting condom on the market. If you try this one let me know your findings so I can share them. 😉
Attempt cutting an unrolled condom down one side and opening it up. You can utilize this as a dam throughout foreplay, holding it over the vagina or anus to avoid the exchange of bodily fluids. Plastic kitchen wraps, while not tested or approved for this use, make a larger and more flexible dam.
Be creative and come up with your own techniques. After all, your mind is your largest, most powerful sexual organ.
